What attracted you to Denton County, or what keeps you here?
I grew up in North Texas, so this area has always felt like home. After living in Denton County for several years, what keeps me here is the combination of community and opportunity. I teach at the University of North Texas, and I also have the privilege of regularly working with quality clients and strong professionals throughout the county. Being able to invest in the next generation through UNT while doing meaningful legal and CPA work alongside great people in the Denton County business community makes this an easy place to put down roots.
How do you balance your professional aspirations with personal life and well-being?
Balance starts with alignment. First, my Christian faith is my highest priority and informs how I approach my life and work. Second, my family keeps me centered and helps my daily outlook and perspective. By leaning into these priorities, I am able to be most effective in my professional pursuits and personal life. And, it is imperative to highlight my wife who is a strong, steady, and graceful partner — she makes a huge difference.
What qualities do you think 40 under Forty winners should possess?
40 under Forty winners should be professionals who lead with excellence and integrity, but they should also be builders. They are the ones pushing the next generation of business forward, setting a higher standard, and creating momentum for the people around them in business and in the community. Above all, they are go-getters: disciplined, proactive, and willing to take initiative when it counts.
