Zachary J. Montgomery, JD, CPA, CFE
Zachary J. Montgomery founded Montgomery Legal on a simple conviction: clients are better served when their legal strategy and their financial reality are handled by one person who understands both. As a licensed attorney, Certified Public Accountant, and Certified Fraud Examiner, he brings together disciplines that are usually scattered across separate firms.
That integrated perspective shapes everything from a business formation to an estate plan to a federal tax controversy. Decisions are made with their tax consequences already in view, plans are stress tested with a fraud examiner's eye for risk, and clients deal with a single, accountable advisor rather than a relay of professionals.
Zachary also serves as an adjunct professor teaching estate planning at the University of North Texas, where he helps prepare the next generation of advisors, a role that keeps his own practice sharp and current.
His practice is grounded in Christian faith and the values that come with it: honesty, diligence, and genuine care for the people he serves. Clients describe the experience as clear, calm, and straightforward.
A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Tax Review, Zachary also earned a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, both summa cum laude. Before founding Montgomery Legal, he built his experience at firms including PwC, Deloitte, and Ernst & Young, and served as the chief financial officer of a wealth management firm. He was named a JD Supra Readers' Choice Top Author in 2021.
